The Fantastic Four Movie Seems Really Good All of a Sudden

20th Century Fox‘s “contemporary re-imagining” of Marvel’s Fantastic Four is now available in trailer form, and you can check it out above.

Fantastic Four is the story of four people whose physical forms are altered after being teleported to an alternate universe. The film is expected to hit theaters Aug. 7.

Fox has released the first teaser trailer for The Fantastic Four, giving us our first look at the reboot. The trailer offers plenty of science, some cool superpowers, and even a fleeting shot of the movie’s villain.

But if you blinked, you might have missed all of that. There are other mysteries, too — like, why is there such a focus on space exploration in this film?

The rest of the information from the interview was heartening, though a lot of it could turn out to be bluster. But if we take Trank and Kinberg at their word, they seem to be doing something fascinating and unique: creating the first big-budget superhero movie that’s rooted in hard science-fiction and body horror.

Fantastic Four will star Miles Teller, Michael B. Jordan, Kate Mara, Jamie Bell and Toby Kebbell. The film is just one of many Marvel properties coming in the next four years, though it won’t be tied to those universes in quite the same way; the roster includes new Thor and Captain America movies, as well as Doctor Strange, an Inhumans movie and more.

 

The Terrible ‘Boy Next Door’ Will Save Jennifer Lopez’s Career

Few movies are as absurd—or as fun—as Lopez’s cheeky new erotic thriller, The Boy Next Door. The so-bad-it’s-good flick could resuscitate J.Lo’s waning movie career, to boot. There are a few simple truths about Jennifer Lopez’s new movie, The Boy Next Door.

It is not a good film. In fact, it might just be a horrible film. But there’s a shrewd self-awareness about its terribleness from everyone involved. Because of that self-awareness, this terrible little film starring Jennifer Lopez as a literature teacher (heh!) who has drunken sex with her 19-year-old next door neighbor and is then stalked Glenn-Close-with-a-rabbit style by him might actually be the most entertaining movie I’ve seen in a year, Oscars season be damned. The Boy Next Door, bad-brilliant as it is, could save Jennifer Lopez’s movie career.

“The Boy Next Door,” the new entrants include Lionsgate’s crime caper “Mortdecai” with Johnny Depp, and Disney’s “Strange Magic,” a computer-animated film about goblins and elves produced by Lucasfilm. “Mortdecai” could wind up in the $10 million to $12 million range with  “Strange Magic” coming in around $10 million.

Oversized coats and plain tank tops cannot hide that Lopez is one of the most beautiful people, ever. Fun fact: Everything she wore in the film actually came from her closet! In an exclusive interview with PEOPLE, she revealed that she mined from her own wardrobe because Boy Next Door was produced with such a small budget.

Star Jennifer Lopez, who also produced the film, makes sure you’ll have a totally engrossing time and she you you on a sometimes – Wait Until Dark – terrifying ride. And boy toy Guzman, fully co-operates on every step of the way. Never has a bad boy ever looked so good!

It’s a Hollywood reversal that’s all the more potent in the wake of the divine Ms. Lopez’s appearance on Ellen this week, in which she addressed rumors that she’s dating 27-year-old Guzman (she’s not) and whether that would make her a “cougar” (it wouldn’t).

Just because, at one point, our heroes are fighting for their lives, that doesn’t mean that certain parts of the film aren’t actually hilarious. (“I love your mom’s cookies,” anyone?!) Another line, involving a summer rainstorm, was particularly funny. We won’t spoil it for you, but seriously – it’s worth the price of admission.

 

Gwyneth Paltrow Breaks Her Silence on Jennifer Lawrence’s Relationship with Chris Martin

When it comes to Jennifer Lawrence dating her ex Chris Martin, Gwyneth Paltrow has stayed pretty mum on the topic, always wishing Martin well but never really discussing his rumored new girlfriend.

That’s right, the Goop creator decided to open up on Howard Stern‘s radio show on SiriusXM to slam reports that say she’s not pleased about her ex’s new girlfriend.

“Who says I don’t approve of Jennifer Lawrence?” she asked on today’s program. “I respect him as the father of my children…It’s his decision…He wouldn’t be with someone who isn’t great.”

During an interview on Howard Stern‘s Sirius XM radio show today, Paltrow slammed any sort of reports that suggest she dislikes Lawrence. “Who says I don’t approve of Jennifer Lawrence?” she asked on the live show. “I respect [Chris] as the father of my children…It’s his decision…He wouldn’t be with someone who isn’t great.”

The mother-of-two also wanted the world to know that she and Martin “actually have a really strong friendship.” She adds, “We have kids, we’re always going to be a family,” saying that their decision to “consciously uncouple” was about “finding the positives” in their history in order to create a drama-free future for their children.

“We laugh and we have fun but there are times when it’s really difficult,” Paltrow admitted. “Things happen and you’re like, I’m sure he doesn’t want to hang out with me and I don’t want to hang out with him but for the sake of the kids, you do it. But you also don’t do it all tense. You say, ‘I really want to find the love for you and I want to forgive you and I want you to forgive me and let’s have some fun as a family.'”

Last March, the two announced that they were separating after 10 years of marriage.

The Golden Globes have taken place in Beverly Hills, the first major ceremony in the awards calendar.

Indie films and quirky TV dramas won big at the Golden Globes Sunday night, as some of the biggest risks that film and television producers have taken in recent years were rewarded. Director Richard Linklater’s life drama Boyhood took home three trophies, while nuanced television series like Transparent, The Affair and Fargo also won multiple awards.

Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, who hosted the Golden Globes on Sunday for their third and last time, set the tone right off the bat. In their opener, they alluded to drug and sexual assault accusations against the man who was until recently one of America’s most beloved and respected comedians, joking that in the movie “Into the Woods,” Sleeping Beauty “just thought she was getting coffee with Bill Cosby.”

Gone Girl’s Rosamund Pike Is Glowing at Golden Globes 2015. And there was plenty for us to love or hate, including a daring white Vera Wang Collection gown for “Gone Girl” co-star Rosamund Pike. She showed off midriff cutouts, a strappy barely there back and plunging neckline soon after giving birth.

Angelina Jolie Says Marriage Has Changed Her Relationship with Brad Pitt

The Unbroken director sat down with Tom Brokaw on NBC’s Today Tuesday, where she opened up about her recent wedding to Brad Pitt and what it was like directing her husband in the film By the Sea.

 

Here’s what the 39-year-old actress andUnbroken director had to share:

On her honeymoon: “[Shooting ‘By the Sea’] felt like the appropriate thing to do on our honeymoon. We wanted to try things; we wanted to push each other; we wanted to be artists and see what we could make. I’m sure I had many moments with the actor, and I’m sure he had many moments with the director,”

 

On how marriage has changed her relationship: “It did change. We were fortunate enough to be in that unusual situation, we got married with our [six] children and they were part of the ceremony. It was all of us agreeing to be together and to just commit to this life together. Not because we had to … because we were absolutely sure we felt that much of a family.”

 

On wanting to change herself: “We have more moments where I say, ‘I’m going to be a better wife,’” she said. “‘I’m going to learn to cook.’ and [Brad] says, ‘Oh, honey, know what you’re good at.’ … But I do like, ‘No, no, no, I’m going to get this wife thing down.’ He knows my limitations and where I’m a good wife and a good mom.”

Kim Kardashian says “Namaste India”

Kim Kardashian is heading to India to appear in the eighth season of Bigg Boss, the Indian version of Big Brother. 

Produced by Endemol India, the reality series airs on Viacom18’s Hindi entertainment channel Colors. According to an official statement from Colors, Kardashian will make her guest appearance on the Bigg Boss set in Mumbai on Nov. 22, marking her first visit to India.

The statement also quoted Kardashian stating in Hindi, “Namaste India … main Kim Kardashian aa rahi hoon India … Bigg Boss ke ghar mein. (Greetings, India. I, Kim Kardashian, am coming to India, to the house of Bigg Boss.)”

Bigg Boss is hosted by top Bollywood star Salman Khan, with Colors claiming that over 150 million viewers watched the last.

The show has previously got well known international celebrities namely, Jade Goody (season two) Khali and Pamela Anderson (season four) Andrew Symonds and Sunny Leone (season five) and this time it is Hollywood’s television reality star Kim Kardashian.

Three More Fast & Furious Movies After Furious 7

Fast & Furious franchise would be ending soon with Justin Lin possibly returning to direct the final movies. Now, Universal Studios head Donna Langley has expressed that she thinks there will be at least three more films in the franchise. In a roundtable discussion with Langley and the heads of five other studios, The Hollywood Reporter asked Langley if the Fast & Furious franchise had a future without it’s late star, Paul Walker.

In what is probably the most obvious piece of a news to come out this year (so far), Universal has decided that yes, as most of us surmised, in order to continue with Fast & Furious 7 they need a viable workaround for the late Paul Walker’s Brian O’Connor, without hitting too close to Walker’s actual death as a result of a high-speed sports car crash. Hard to do in a Fast & Furious movie.

THR reports that F&F7 director James Wan and writer Chris Morgan are tweaking the script in a way that they can use what footage of Walker they already shot (about half the film), while also creating a send off for Walker’s character Brian that would still allow the franchise to continue. The film has currently been pushed back to April 10, 2015 to allow the cast time to grieve and the necessary changes to be made.

Recent rumors have pointed to Paul’s little brother Cody Walker possibly filling in for some of the stunt-heavy moments in the film (a lot of the big set pieces haven’t been shot yet), and this “Brian goes into the sunset” scenario could still utilize that option. In short: since the film revolves around Jason Statham’s villain looking for payback for the events of Fast & Furious 6, Brian could be involved in the early part of the film until danger hits too close, before he, Dom and Co. finally opt to do the responsible thing and send Brian and Mia off to live safe with their son.

That’s really the best of all worlds. Fans get one last outing with Walker in his most iconic role; the franchise can continue without detriment to the part 7 story-line ; and nobody has to be reminded of the grisly reality of things, nor feel like Walker’s memory has been disrespected.
